Who You Gonna Call? Alyssa Milano?!?

In my e-mail in-box this morning was an e-mail from Atari telling me all about the new Ghostbusters game featuring Alyssa Milano.

Alyssa Milano Ain't Afraid of No Ghost

ESRB Rated EVERYONE - TEEN: Fantasy Violence, Comic Mischief, Mild Language

Surprise! Atari announced to the world that Alyssa Milano stars in Ghostbusters the Video Game. Head on over to Gametrailers.com and listen to Alyssa wax poetic about acting, video games, and Peter Venkman.
Check out the Alyssa on GameTrailers.com

I'm sure you're like me and think that the only thing missing from the Ghostbusters franchise was Alyssa Milano (even though she had to be maybe 6 when the movies came out). I mean when I think of Ghostbusters I say to myself, if only they would have been able to include Alyssa Milano it would have been perfect. I'm guessing Anne Potts or Sigourney Weaver weren't available?

I'm thinking though that the Alyssa from the movie "Embrace of the Vampire" might be what they are looking for...but then the game wouldn't be rated "E" for everyone now would it.

That's about the only picture of her from that movie I can safely post...but you get the idea. To quote a review of that movie, "Embrace of the Vampire wasn't even really about vampires. It was an excuse to see Alyssa Milano's big boobs, (and)watch her kiss a girl..."

The rendering of the characters are quite striking though.

Outside the Wire

Outside the Wire is a documentary series shot by a former Marine, JD Johannes...if you don't have a copy then get one. If you've already seen it, then send a copy to a friend.

To buy one go HERE

And if this helps move you to buy a copy, JD's goal is to beat the sales of the film Redacted...maybe a little something to try teach some of those Hollywood types a lesson.

He's currently 65% of the way! Help put him over the top and support a serious documentary about our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.

Was The Green Hornet Really a Fat Stoner?

I saw a link on Ace of Spades that mentioned this guy...

...starring as, The Green Hornet. OOOOKAY, if you say so.

Now I'm not a big fan of the story but having a passing aquaintance with the "Green Hornet", I'm pretty sure he was a crime fighter, who kicked ass along with Kato.

More on this story was found HERE.

I guess I wish him all the luck in the world...call me skeptical, but the only thing I see him taking on is a bag of weed and a six pack. I guess we will see.

On Turner Classic Movies...

Last night for fans of John Ford's cavalry movies, there was a triple feature; Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and Rio Grande. Just awesome.

I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea...but they don't make 'em like that anymore. Here's some lines that I found particularly good...they ring true even today. There's more HERE.

Newspaper reporter: Of course, you're familiar with the famous painting of 'Thursday's Charge', sir?
Captain Yorke: Yes, I saw it when last I in Washington.
Newspaper reporter: That was a magnificent work.
[to other reporters]
Newspaper reporter: There were these massed columns of Apaches in their warpaint and feather bonnets... and here was Thursday leading his men in that heroic charge!
Captain Yorke: [knowing what really happened] Correct in every detail.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newspaper reporter: [speaking of Col. Thursday] But what of the men who died with him? What of Collingworth and...
Captain Yorke: Collingwood.
Newspaper reporter: Oh, of course, Collingwood.
Reporter: That's the ironic part of it. We always remember the Thursdays, but the others are forgotten.
Captain Yorke: You're wrong there. They aren't forgotten because they haven't died. They're living - right out there.
[points out the window]
Captain Yorke: Collingwood and the rest. And they'll keep on living as long as the regiment lives. The pay is thirteen dollars a month; their diet: beans and hay. Maybe horsemeat before this campaign is over. Fight over cards or rotgut whiskey, but share the last drop in their canteens. The faces may change... the names... but they're there: they're the regiment... the regular army... now and fifty years from now. They're better men than they used to be. Thursday did that. He made it a command to be proud of.

Here He Comes...

Save yourself $10 if you were thinking about going to see Speed Racer and take a gander at this...

or this

From what I've heard, either or these is more entertaining and has more of a plot. The cartoon was never my fav so I wasn't going anyway.
